Charity Run/Walk

We had a fantastic day supporting the Douglas Macmillan Hospice by taking part in their Ruby 5k charity run/walk event. Colin and Chris took up the challenge of running the 5K whilst Kathy, Sharon and her family endured the hike around the undulating yet beautiful landscape of Barlaston.

We raised over £450.00 for the charity, which will help support families in Staffordshire that use the hospice. The Hospice cares for adults and their families facing life-limiting illnesses across North Staffordshire. Without the support of the  local community, they could not continue to provide free of charge care.

It costs approximately £9million per year to keep the hospice running. The hospice employs around 220 staff and has the support of over 900 volunteers who work in all areas of the hospice. If you want to get involved and help raise money to help the Douglas Macmillan Hospice, why not take a look at their website and see how you can get involved. They hold a number of organised events throughout the year, or you could plan your own fund raising activities.
